Microsoft Exam 70-480: Programming in HTML5 with JavaScript and CSS3

On Friday afternoon I went to my local Prometric testing center and took Microsoft Exam 70-480: Programming in HTML5 with JavaScript and CSS3. I felt fairly well prepared for the test but it turned out to be a little different than I expected. All is well though, as I passed!

Exam 70-480 is the first of three exams which will be necessary for the SharePoint 2013 MCSD certification. The other two exams, both SharePoint-specific, are not yet released (70-488 and 70-489). 70-480 also counts towards the "Web Applications" and "Windows Store Apps using HTML5" MCSD certifications.

After the long week of work and a couple late nights prepping for the test, I decided to relax and let myself waste pretty much the entire weekend playing SimCity. For the record, in case you're following that whole situation, I haven't had any server/connection problems whatsoever, but still think I'm a little disappointed with the gameplay so far. Anyway, it's Monday now and that means time to quit gaming and get back to work and blogging!

There are a couple decent study guides already out there for the exam, which you can easily find via Google, but I'll be adding my own list of resources later this week (as well as links to the other guides). In addition, many of my upcoming blog posts will cover topics related to the exam; things I learned while studying that I found particularly useful and interesting. While these posts won't be SharePoint-specific, they'll absolutely be relevant to SharePoint branding and app development in 2013. So stay tuned!
